Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse Program
Our Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) provides assessment and evaluation of wounds, including diabetic, pressure, stasis ulcers, surgical and traumatic wounds, and Ostomy care. Home Doppler screening is available. The VNA is the only home health care agency in Oneida County with a full-time WOCN.

Our Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Care Specialist Training and Certification-
Our Wound Care Specialist Cathy Frank, BSN, RN, has been with the Visiting Nurse Association since 1983. She was certified by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Board after completing 160 hours of classroom work and 160 hours of clinical experience through Wick's Educational Associates of Mechanicsburg, PA. She successfully passed the Certification Board exams. She serves as a valuable resource for the entire agency clinical staff.
